RAF100: A local story of air power through time, Leicester

Event Type: CPD

Takes Place: 18th September 2018

Time: 16:00pm-17:30pm

Venue: Leicester Teaching School

Description: This cross-curricular topic can enrich your curriculum by exploring aspects of the story of the Royal Air Force and how it fits into your local environment. This year the RAF is 100 years old and to celebrate and commemorate that achievement the Historical Association and the Institute of Physics has created a new set of activities and resources, including films and maps. This workshop will introduce some of these activities and materials and how they can be used in the classroom, lunch clubs and after school clubs. Participants will be shown how to make materials relevant to a local study and demonstrate approaches to enquiry that will hook the interest of pupils and add to your own subject knowledge.
