Competition for years 3 to 7: Local history

Locate an airbase on the interactive map and investigate the history about that base.

Create a local history blog, or poster or news piece about the base that can be added to the map information.

The entry can be for one child or a team of up to five. Copyright cleared images can be included.

Prizes include HA resources and RAF100 commemorative items.

Competition for ‘A’ level students: History

Research one of airbases in the UK or globally and write or create a visual piece that demonstrates a key role that base played in either local history or a major historical event or era. E.g. the role of RAF Madmenham in relation to Operation Crossbow in the Second World War.

Entries should be from a single student or students working in pairs. The written work can include images and primary sources.

Prizes include HA resources and RAF100 commemorative items.
